Family Support

Our Family Support team helps families, children and young people who are experiencing long-term or short-term difficulties. Parents and carers play a vital role in nurturing and mentoring their children and family members often provide each other with emotional comfort, understanding, and a sense of belonging. They can be a source of encouragement, empathy, and a safe space to express feelings and thoughts. They contribute to each other’s social wellbeing and can provide assistance in times of need.

Our support can ensure that children and family members, including those with a disability, or special educational need, are safe and have a healthy family environment.

This support can take various forms and is essential for the wellbeing and functioning of individuals within the family unit and the family as a whole. Family support encompasses emotional, financial and social assistance that family members offer to each other during various life situations and challenges. This can include crisis support during challenging times like illness, loss of a loved one, divorce, or other significant life events.

Our experienced team is equipped to sensitively provide practical help and guidance through clear communication, empathy and advocacy. This assists families in establishing a network of care, comfort and stability.

On many occasions the Family Support team will be working alongside other services who may be involved with the family such as:

  • Health Visitors
  • Schools
  • Multi-Agency Team
  • Social Services
  • Youth Workers
  • Police
