Early intervention
is prevention

Our services

Supporting Communities is a dedicated charity focused on meeting the needs of at-risk individuals, young people, and their families. Our guiding principle is “Early intervention is prevention,” emphasising the importance of timely support for all young people.

Our mission is to relieve the burdens of poverty, enhance mental health and well-being, and reduce the number of at-risk individuals, young people and their families entering local authority services. Committed to establishing and sustaining high-quality youth and family support, we aim to build the resilience of families and create opportunities for young people to thrive.

FAQ'S

Waiting times depend on the volume of referrals on our waiting list, typically ranging from 6 to 12 weeks. We believe in the power of early intervention as a means of prevention. To help expedite access, a paid fast-track option is available for schools and partners, which can reduce waiting times for some referrals. For our free, funded services, we have a limited capacity and can only support a certain number of referrals each week.

Supporting Communities funding is currently focused on services within Derby City, as well as select areas in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, in line with our available funding. However, if you are a funder interested in extending these services to your area, we encourage you to reach out to a member of our team for further discussion.

Our Supporting Communities staff are highly skilled in working with children, families, and young people. Each team member holds qualifications ranging from Level 3 to Level 6, tailored to the specific services we provide. We are dedicated to delivering best practices and high-quality support, adhering to national guidelines for youth, children, and family services.
