Youth Support Case Study 1 – Supporting Communities

Supporting Communities

One young person was referred to us after losing a parent during the lockdown. This young person, who was about to take their GCSEs, had gone through several difficult experiences, which hurt their school attendance and their ability to trust and communicate.

Seeing how serious their situation was, we gave them one-on-one support. We helped them manage their emotions, prepare for exams, and explore post-16 options like college open days. Our support aimed to help them with both their schoolwork and their long-term emotional and mental health.

With our consistent help, this young person successfully completed all their GCSEs. They are now doing very well at college, studying a course they love. Their family relationships and support network have also become much stronger. The tools and strategies they learned for handling their social, emotional, and mental health are strong and continue to help them even after our support ends. This story shows how resilient the young person is and how important it is to provide caring, comprehensive support to help people overcome big personal challenges and reach their potential.
