Supporting Communities staff were tasked with targeting an area experiencing high levels of anti-social behaviour (ASB). A serious arson offence committed by local young people had caused significant damage. In response, we conducted several detached sessions within the community, engaging with various young people. Once we established new relationships, we organised weekly positive activities at the nearest park courts. The young people eagerly participated and expressed a desire for more opportunities in the area. They requested equipment to play regularly outside of the organised sessions. Listening to their needs, Supporting Communities provided the necessary equipment, enabling the young people to meet up and engage in positive activities regularly. This initiative successfully kept them out of ASB and demonstrated a strong commitment to hearing and addressing their voices.
